BreakNews Shorts: Dog Leaps from National Monument Ledge in Close Call
In a heart-stopping moment shared by the Mesa County Sheriff's Office on April 2, a dog named Yogi had an unforgettable brush with danger at the Colorado National Monument.
Yogi and her owner had pulled over to enjoy the scenic view. As her owner opened the car door to bring her along, Yogi—bursting with excitement—leapt from the vehicle and ran toward the edge. Unaware of the canyon’s drop, she tragically fell over 100 feet before landing on a rocky shelf below.
Thanks to the quick response from local search and rescue teams, Yogi’s story didn’t end there. The brave pup was rescued and—miraculously—survived the fall.
It's a reminder that even the best girls can get a little too excited for adventure.
