The Best Kisses Are Yucky Dog Kisses

Because your kiss is on my list of the best things in life…—Hall and Oates

Y’all know the best most memorable kisses ever were from your dog. It was probably your first real kiss! Say whut-Say huh?! Yes, it was so full of love, devotion and affection. (And you probably been chasing that same feeling ever since.) See, he/she loves you more than themselves, right? So, Pucker up! Get your slob on! Dogs are the best kissers. What about cats? Cats are more gentile, suave and debonair. No yuck in their kisses just love and warmth and that sandpaper tongue. Cats introduce themselves, usually with a head butt. Dogs on the other hand like to surprise ya. I was going for a peck on the top of his or her head, but naw at the last second, SLURP! Gotcha! It was sloppy and wet and had lots of tongue. Aaaaaugh! YUCK!

Meanwhile, I am like Lucy van Pelt…I've been kissed by a dog! I have dog germs! Get hot water! Get some disinfectant! Get some iodine!

Why dogs are the best kissers…Unabashed, not caring about being pawlitically correct, they're the Oprah Winfreys of the pet world. YOU GET A KISS AND YOU GET A KISS!

My mom hates dogs jumping up on her and giving her a wet, sloppy kiss. That’s where I got my Lucy Van Pelt reaction to dog kisses, from her. However, my Sheila didn’t care…upon introduction to my mom who was laying down at the time. She ran through the house to the bedroom, jumped up on the bed, and got her lick on. What an introduction! While my mom lamented, "She is licking MEeee…and her tongue is warm!" My dad, laughing hysterically, said, "Hey Peg, she gotcha didn’t she? Mmm…tongue and all.” I, horrified, ran to the bedroom, got the dog, and told her, "No licky-licky, grandma. Licky-licky daddy, but no licky-licky mommy and no licky-licky grandma."

If ya gonna get kissed anyway…Keep your pup's breath fresh and their teeth clean for those sweet, slobbery kisses.
